![]() I bought my XV-3080 new back in 2002, and still have it. If I had disposable income, I'd certainly go new (warranty) and the Integra as a no-brainer. It really depends on how much you want to spend, and how many sounds you need, as well as any particular features you might want. The 5080 is 32 Part multi-timbral (so basically, 2 16 part synths in one box), the Integra is only 16.īut if you're looking to save money, you might as well find an old 1080 or something. You can even add more different sounds by 1) swapping out "boards" (these are downloadable files, not physical boards) and 2) adding additional sounds into user banks from Roland's Axial site. IOW, you're looking at a 5080, plus all the supernatural sounds, plus the 12 expansion boards - 6,000 sounds versus 1,200. The Integra has ALL THE SOUNDS FROM THE 5080 ONBOARD! If you get a 5080 without expansions, you'd have to buy those separately if you want them. The 5080 can do samples, the Integra can not (not sure if the 5080 is map-able across the keyboard though). And the Supernatural Synth tones are editable, and can be controlled real time via SysEx and CC messages, as well as with the software editor, and basically give you a 3 oscillator Digital Subtractive synth using modelled analog sounds and behaviors on top of all the ROMpler and SN sounds. I mean, is there something specific about these two devices you're looking for? I'd say, if price is a consideration, you might as well pick up whatever you can get cheap. ![]() Furthermore, no security is promised or implied by The Gear Page owners, administrators, or moderators.
